How to Buy

How Buy

Kobikoba isn’t a traditional online store — and that’s a good thing. Instead of one company selling everything, Kobikoba connects you with thousands of independent shops and sellers, each with their own unique products, prices, and specialties.
But a marketplace works a little differently from a regular store, and understanding how it works helps you shop with total confidence.
In this guide, we’ll walk you through everything:
  • How to find exactly what you’re looking for
  • How to order and pay safely (yes, you pay the seller directly — here’s why that’s good for you)
  • What to do after you order
  • How returns and warranties work
  • How to shop safely and avoid scams
  • What to do if something goes wrong
Let’s dive in.

Part 1: Finding What You Want

Browsing and Searching

  • Search bar — Type what you’re looking for (for example, “handmade leather wallet”);
  • Categories — Browse organized categories if you’re just exploring;
  • Filters — Narrow results by price, location, rating, or availability;
  • Seller stores — Found a seller you love? Visit their store page to see everything they offer.

How to Judge a Listing Before You Buy

This is the most important skill in marketplace shopping. Before ordering, check:
1. The product description Is it detailed and specific? Does it answer your questions about size, material, condition, and compatibility?
2. The photos Are they clear, real-looking, and consistent? Be cautious of stock photos or images stolen from other websites.
3. The Seller’s reviews Read what other buyers say. Look for patterns — consistent praise or repeated complaints tell you more than any single review.
4. The Seller’s policies Check their return policy, warranty terms, shipping times, and delivery areas — these vary from seller to seller.
5. The Seller’s history How long have they been on Kobikoba? Established sellers with long track records are generally lower-risk.
Tip: If anything is unclear, message the seller before ordering. A good seller responds quickly and answers thoroughly. A seller who ignores questions before the sale will likely ignore you after it too.

Part 2: Placing Your Order

Step 1: Contact the Seller

On Kobikoba, orders are arranged directly with the seller. Use the contact option on the product page or store page to:
  • Confirm the item is in stock;
  • Ask any final questions;
  • Confirm the total price (item plus shipping);
  • Agree on delivery details.

Step 2: Confirm the Details

Before paying, make sure you have in writing:
  • The exact product (including variant — size, color, etc.)
  • The total price including shipping
  • The delivery timeframe and method
  • The seller’s return/refund policy for this item

Step 3: Pay the Seller Directly

Here’s the key thing to understand about Kobikoba: we don’t process payments. You pay the seller directly using whichever payment method they offer — bank transfer, mobile money, cash on delivery, or their own payment link.
Why this is good for you:
  • Your money goes straight to the seller — no third party holding your funds;
  • You and the seller agree on the payment method that works best for both of you;
  • Cash on delivery (where offered) means you pay only when the item is in your hands.
Safety rules for paying:
  • Use traceable payment methods whenever possible (bank transfer, mobile money with confirmation);
  • Keep proof of every payment (receipts, screenshots, transaction IDs);
  • Never pay through untraceable methods to unverified sellers;
  • Never pay anyone claiming to be “Kobikoba staff” — we will never ask you for money or payment details.

Step 4: Get Your Receipt

The seller issues your receipt or order confirmation directly — check your email or messages after ordering. If you don’t receive one, ask the seller. Keep it safe; you’ll need it for returns or warranty claims.

Part 3: After You Order

Delivery and Shipping

Each seller manages their own shipping, so:
  • Delivery times vary by seller, location, and shipping method — confirm the estimated timeframe before ordering;
  • Tracking: Ask the seller for a tracking number if a courier service is used;
  • Delays: If your order is late, contact the seller first — most issues are simple misunderstandings.
Order not arriving? Contact the seller immediately. If they’re unresponsive or unhelpful, file a complaint with us and consider a payment dispute through your payment provider.

Inspect Your Order on Arrival

When your item arrives:
  1. Check it immediately — does it match the listing?
  2. Test it (where applicable) — does it work as described?
  3. Report problems fast — contact the seller within their stated return window if anything is wrong;
  4. Take photos/video of any damage or discrepancy as evidence.

Part 4: Returns, Refunds and Warranties — Explained

This is where marketplace shopping differs most from regular stores, so pay close attention:

Who handles returns? The Seller — not Kobikoba.

Every seller on Kobikoba sets their own return, refund, and warranty policies. Before buying, always check the policies displayed on the listing or store page.

How to Request a Return or Warranty Claim

  1. Contact the seller directly — as soon as you notice the issue;
  2. Provide evidence — your receipt, photos/video of the problem, and a clear description;
  3. Reference their policy — point to the return/warranty terms they published;
  4. Follow their process — they may offer repair, replacement, or refund depending on their terms and your legal rights.

Your Legal Rights Still Apply

Sellers’ policies cannot take away your mandatory consumer rights under the laws of your country. For example, EU/EEA and UK consumers generally have a 2-year legal guarantee of conformity against the seller. Your legal claim is against the seller, not Kobikoba — but if a seller refuses to honor their obligations, we’re here to help (see Part 6).

Part 5: Shopping Safely on Kobikoba

Marketplaces are wonderful — but like anywhere online, a little caution goes a long way.

Do:

  • Read reviews before buying from a new seller;
  • Use traceable payment methods;
  • Keep records of all communication and payments;
  • Ask questions before ordering;
  • Report suspicious listings or behavior to us.

Don’t:

  • Pay “Kobikoba staff” or anyone claiming we collect payments (we never do);
  • Share your password, OTP codes, or bank PIN with anyone;
  • Fall for deals that seem too good to be true — they usually are;
  • Move to off-platform communication if a seller pressures you to;
  • Ignore red flags like stock photos, no reviews, and vague descriptions.

Red Flags to Watch For

  • Prices dramatically below market value;
  • Sellers who refuse to answer questions or provide extra photos;
  • Pressure to pay immediately via untraceable methods;
  • Sellers asking you to pay Kobikoba directly (we never collect payments);
  • Brand-new sellers offering high-value items with no history.

Part 6: Something Went Wrong — What to Do

Step 1: Contact the Seller First

Most problems resolve directly with the seller. Give them a fair chance to fix it — clear, polite communication solves the vast majority of issues.

Step 2: File a Complaint with Kobikoba

If the seller:
  • Doesn’t respond,
  • Refuses to honor their own stated policies,
  • Sent something that doesn’t match the listing,
  • Appears fraudulent or abusive,
submit a complaint via our Report Form or email complaints@kobikoba.com. Include:
  • Your username and the seller’s store name;
  • Order date and product details;
  • A clear description of the problem;
  • Evidence: screenshots, photos, receipts, message history.

What Kobikoba Can Do

  • Review the seller’s account and complaint history;
  • Contact the seller and request a resolution;
  • Take enforcement action: warnings, listing removals, suspensions, or permanent removal of repeat offenders;
  • Escalate suspected illegal activity (fraud, counterfeit goods) to authorities.

What Kobikoba Cannot Do

Let’s be transparent: we cannot force a seller to refund you or act as a court. For financial recovery, you may also have options through:
  • Your payment provider (chargeback/dispute);
  • Your local consumer protection agency;
  • Small claims court or other legal remedies.

Part 7: Buying FAQ

Is it free to buy on Kobikoba? Yes. Browsing and buying costs you nothing — you only pay the seller for your purchases.
